One is for\u00a0<strong>basic beekeeping education in Halkida<\/strong>\u00a0(20 trainees) and the other is for\u00a0<strong>advanced courses in the towns of Trikala and Larisa<\/strong>\u00a0(40 trainees in total).<\/p>\n<p>The training program has a duration of 100 hours, of which 60 hours are allocated to theory and 40 hours are allocated to practical training on beehives for the basic group, while 45 hours are allocated to theory and 55 hours are allocated to practical training on beehives for the advanced group.<\/p>\n<p>A Certificate of Attendance is provided at the end of the program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objective of the Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The objective of the program is to serve as a good starting point for young beekeepers (basic group).<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, it aims to strengthen the already beekeepers, providing them with knowledge and skills, which are essential for the professional approach.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who it is for<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic group: participants must me with none or small experience in beekeeping and must not be allergic to beestings. They must be willing to participate in the training program. Unemployed, farmers, low educated and local people will be preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced groups: participants must have significant beekeeping experience and already possess some bee colonies. Beneficiaries of previous years of the program, unemployed, farmers, low educated and local people will be preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Curriculum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The curriculum includes\u00a0the following topics (indicatively):<\/p>\n<p>Basic group<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with the bees<\/li>\n<li>Beehive inspection<\/li>\n<li>Bee biology<\/li>\n<li>Beekeeping equipment<\/li>\n<li>Transports of beehives<\/li>\n<li>Operations during the year<\/li>\n<li>Brood diseases<\/li>\n<li>Adult honeybees\u2019 diseases<\/li>\n<li>Pests<\/li>\n<li>Bee products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Advanced group<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operations during the year \u2013 special cases<\/li>\n<li>Brood diseases<\/li>\n<li>Adult honeybees\u2019 diseases<\/li>\n<li>Pests<\/li>\n<li>Annual plan for controlling varroosis and Nosemosis<\/li>\n<li>Bee products<\/li>\n<li>Organic beekeeping<\/li>\n<li>Queen rearing<\/li>\n<li>Production of royal jelly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Depending on the case, preparation of business plans and consulting according to product or service that is to be produced\/provided by special scientists<\/p>\n<p><strong>Areas of activation of the 2019-20 training round<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Halkida: Basic group<br \/>\nLarisa: Advanced group<br \/>\nTrikala: Advanced group<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration of action<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">16 days per group. Classes will be held from December to June.
