Through a comprehensive educational framework, the program aimed to support and empower producers from five countries: Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia. The participants were selected through an international competition and had the opportunity to engage in a series of educational activities combining theory with practical application.<\/p>\n<p>The training program included an intensive ten-day workshop held in Greece, where participants were trained on key topics such as innovation, business development, technological trends, and sustainability. By attending educational seminars and visiting model aquaculture units, participants gained new knowledge and skills to improve their businesses. The event was opened by prominent figures, including Maria Damanaki, former European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Houssam Hamza from the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM), and Effie Lazaridou, CEO, NANG.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers emphasized the vital role of small-scale aquaculture in the Mediterranean diet, food security, and environmental footprint reduction. Greece\u2019s selection as the central hub for implementing this important initiative underscores the country\u2019s leading role in aquaculture and the promotion of sustainable food production from aquatic ecosystems.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"143\" data-end=\"163\">Detailed Benefits<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"165\" data-end=\"352\">Its goal was to strengthen the sustainable development of small-scale aquaculture producers in the southeastern Mediterranean \u2014 namely in <strong data-start=\"303\" data-end=\"351\">Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"354\" data-end=\"372\">More specifically:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"374\" data-end=\"1003\">\n<li data-start=\"374\" data-end=\"471\">\n<p data-start=\"376\" data-end=\"471\">The participants were selected through an <strong data-start=\"418\" data-end=\"431\">open call<\/strong> based on <strong data-start=\"441\" data-end=\"468\">sustainability criteria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"472\" data-end=\"549\">\n<p data-start=\"474\" data-end=\"549\">They received <strong data-start=\"488\" data-end=\"546\">training in entrepreneurship, marketing and management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"714\">\n<p data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"618\">They attended <strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"612\">intensive workshops and seminars in Greece<\/strong> on:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"714\">\n<li data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"665\">\n<p data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"665\">strategy, innovation and sustainability,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li
