Florina hosts the 5th TrophyΤροφή Meet-Up 2026, focusing on biodiversity
Bringing together knowledge, innovation and business ideas for resilient agricultural ecosystems
Biodiversity and its connection to the future of agrifood take centre stage at the 5th TrophyΤροφή Meet-Up of 2026, which will take place on Thursday, 5 November, at 17:00, in the Amphitheatre of the School of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Western Macedonia in Florina. Under the theme “Biodiversity: The Key to Resilient Agricultural Ecosystems in a Changing Environment”, the event is organised as part of the TrophyΤροφή initiative by New Agriculture New Generation.
The meet-up aims to highlight the direct connection between the environment, the primary sector and food, bringing together students, researchers, startups, business representatives and academics. In the first part of the event, the central theme, “Biodiversity: The Key to Resilient Agricultural Ecosystems in a Changing Environment”, will be explored through two panel discussions focusing on production systems that enhance biodiversity and the revival of local landraces. The discussions will examine how biodiversity contributes to building resilient agricultural ecosystems, connecting scientific knowledge with farming practice and agrifood innovation.
In the second part, discussion will give way to action through a short business ideation workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to develop proposals based on the event’s themes, present their ideas and projects, and network. The team selected through a vote will receive advisory support to further develop its business proposal and will compete against the winning teams from the other TrophyΤροφή Meet-Ups to determine the overall winning team of TrophyΤροφή 2026.
Now in their fifth year, the TrophyΤροφή Meet-Ups strengthen dialogue on agrifood innovation and technology in Greece, creating opportunities to connect the university community with entrepreneurship.
Participation is free, and certificates of attendance will be provided. Register via the online registration form.
