Regeneration Academy for Food Innovation

Training in Food Technology

As part of our initiatives to create employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people and support the agri-food sector in Greece, we are working with ReGeneration to implement the ReGeneration Academy for Food Innovation  – Powered by New Agriculture New Generation &  Elbisco. It is a specialized training program for young people who wish to stay in Greece and claim a position in the food and beverage industry.

What is it?

It is an intensive training program on food technology, co-designed by ReGeneration and the “New Agriculture New Generation”, supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). The 2nd Academy is sponsored by Elbisco.

The program is designed in collaboration with acclaimed food industry executives and scientists  coming from Greek universities and Rutgers University, USA. It has a duration of 45 hours, and will be implemented online.

The program will provide participants with the necessary skills and tools to meet the growing demand for skilled scientists with specialized knowledge in the food and beverage industry. This sector represents almost 30% of all manufacturing companies in Greece and is highly export-oriented.

During the program, participants will focus on topics such as: global food system and trends, food quality and safety management, new product development, supply chain management, national and European food and marketing legislation.

In addition, participants will receive training on soft skills  focusing on topics such as leadership, creative collaboration and teamwork, crisis management, decision making etc.

Application process for the second ReGeneration Academy for Food Innovation powered by New Agriculture New Generation & Elbisco is completed.

Why participate?

The food and beverage industry has proved particularly resilient to the economic crisis and is one of the largest employers in our country.

Train the Trainers

Continuous training and upskilling of our trainers

The Train the Trainers workshops are an innovation in the Greek Agrifood sector, designed for our trainers, who will transfer their knowledge and experience to the beneficiaries.

We want our trainers to offer their trainees not only useful information but also tools to accomplish culture change towards networking and collaboration in the industry.

The program aims to:

  • Strengthen the hard and soft skills of the program’s trainers in order to respond to the specificities of adult education.
  • Develop trainers who are already established scientists and practitioners to be effective Agricultural Extension Workers.
  • Establish a support framework for the implementation of innovative education practices in the Agrifood sector.

In a later phase we aim to expand the Train the Trainers program to professionals and scientists in the industry who wish to specialize in consulting services.
