New Agriculture New Generation and ActionAid Hellas, with the support of the Citi Foundation, are introducing the new Bridge to Employment: Future Ready initiative. Its aim is to equip more than 500 young people with the skills they need to enter the labour market and pursue meaningful career opportunities.
The programme primarily targets young people aged 15–24 in Athens, Thessaloniki, and rural and semi-urban areas, and will run until February 2028. The initiative’s official launch will take place on Thursday, 8 October 2026, from 15:00 to 17:00, at the ActionAid Youth Center in Thessaloniki (4 Katholikon Street, 2nd floor), at an event open to young people.
Bridge to Employment: Future Ready aims to strengthen young people’s skills and equip them to meet the demands of today’s workplace and pursue more and better career opportunities, connecting skills development with employment. The project includes training in essential career skills and financial literacy, individual counselling, career guidance, and job fairs in Athens and Thessaloniki. In addition, 240 young people will gain certification in green skills for the agrifood sector through activities and seminars organised by New Agriculture New Generation.
The event will introduce the initiative’s main pillars and activities, along with opportunities to participate, and will also feature an interactive financial literacy workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to explore key financial management concepts and tools and put their knowledge to the test through a personal budgeting challenge.
The event will conclude with a discussion focusing on “jobs of the future”, green skills, the importance of financial literacy for young people’s professional and financial independence, and the emerging needs and opportunities in the labour market.
The event is open to all, and those interested can register here.
